Full job description

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our highly successful team working at a prestigious Business Improvement District in Clapham.

Working closely with numerous businesses and organisations, from a range of sectors, the individual will be passionate about customer service and play their part in providing a united and safe district for businesses, stakeholders and visitors.

The shift patterns will operate Friday - Saturday

For this role the candidate must have a valid DS SIA badge and at least 1 years’ experience that relates to the below.

Main Duties

• To guard, watch and patrol within the immediate environs of the client’s property
• To deter and detect crime and disorder
• Provide visible reassurance to customers and the public
• To deliver outstanding levels of customer service and direction
• Mitigate risk through early identification of potential hazard
• Identify and assist in any critical incident or crowd management issue
• Enhance the customer experience

Personal Specification

· Motivated and experienced security professional

· Calm and assertive manner, with the ability to deal professionally and diplomatically with people from all backgrounds

· Resilient character, as some interactions with the offenders can occasionally be confrontational

· Ability to defuse hostile situations professionally

· Good observational and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

· Effective verbal and written communication skills for report writing, and speaking with members of the public

Effective communication skills to engage with all stakeholders including:

· Public

· Police and emergency services

· Local Authority Representatives

· Business Improvement District Representatives

· Other stakeholders

Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure alone, or as part of the team
Capable of being on your feet, and walking for long periods and in varying weather conditions

Vetting

All potential staff will need to meet the vetting requirements of BS7858 Security Screening of Individuals Employed in a Security Environment
