Wing Yip is the UKs leading Oriental Food retailer open to the trade and public. Based at the refurbished store in Nechells, the company has been trading for over 35 years. We currently employ around 370 staff across it's 4 stores and a Central Distribution Centre and are currently looking for new candidates to join the team in a number of areas within the business.

About the job

In this role you will be working for our Croydon store, it will be your responsibility to ensure the smooth movement of stock in stores, processing internal orders and inter-branch transfers through our warehouse management software, Korber. You should be able to maintain and report accurate stock counts bulk produce through regular cycle counts in the warehouse and at times on the shop floor. Discrepancies must be investigated within strict time frames, to ensure our store and warehouse teams have correct and up to date information.

This is a fast paced working environment and you will need to be disciplined and driven to learn the systems and product range quickly. You may be required to alter shifts temporarily where applicable and attend occasional out of hours stock counts.

Additional duties include:

• To process, record and account for stock transactions internally across the stores
• Updating system with findings after stock investigations and identify root cause of stock errors.
• Reporting shortages, damages, and incorrect stock and amending the system.
• Report on and investigate stock adjustments to minimise risk.
• Communicate with relevant departments and Store managers.
• Dealing with external storage providers to arrange collection and return of stock.
• Undertaking any other tasks as deemed appropriate that may be initiated by a member of the management team.
• Continuous personal development and gain knowledge of all aspects of the business.
• Ensuring stock availability after low stock / no stock checks in the shop floor and warehouse ambient and freezers.
• Ensuring all chill chain and frozen food temperature regulations are followed.
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
• Cover other areas of the business as required (following any further training needed).

- Have some exposure to within any stock & inventory/ warehouse management based roles

- Have an outgoing personality and be comfortable working across different departments/teams at times
