We are Coffee Lab, a specialty coffee company based in Hertfordshire. Founded in 2016, serving our very own locally roasted coffee across our four specialty coffee shops, we have grown and become a popular daily destination for many people within our local communities.
We are passionate about producing top-notch coffee, whilst keeping it simple and easy for our customers to enjoy, and maybe take a bag or two away with them. We are fortunate enough to have grown at the pace we have, starting with a mini roaster within our Hitchin store, to setting up a bigger roaster in our Hertford store in 2018, before moving into our very own roastery in 2021 within Hertford town.
As a small company, we hear all of our employees voices and we want to grow together. Our aim is to be the best and get our name out there as the place to go for anything from a quick coffee, to lunch, to working out of the office.
Our coffee roastery churns out hundreds of kilos of coffee a week and we are looking for experienced baristas to serve it up in our Hertford store.
What you'll be doing:
- Customer service - creating relationships with customers and becoming part of the community
- Serving coffee up to Coffee Lab standards - latte art skills an added bonus
- Knowing our products and upselling effectively
- Keeping the shop running with the team; cleaning, prepping, and daily/weekly jobs completed
- Adhering to food safety guidelines and do your part in keeping our customers and other staff members safe
Who we're looking for:
- Previous experience as barista is required
- Reliable and flexible - this job requires weekend work and an occasional late notice of shifts
- Good work ethic - happy to support fellow members of staff when necessary
- Someone who wants to learn and grow with the company (training and support given)
- Able to work under pressure and still enjoy what they're doing
- A fun, happy personality who can build rapport with customers
We are looking for individuals who are seeking more long-term, rather than a 'summer job', with flexibility over the week and weekends.
