Job description at Rolling Oats are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work in our busy cafe kitchen. You'll help with food preparation working in a small friendly team who are passionate about delivering great food and service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in meal preparation and cooking under the supervision of the kitchen staff
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Help with food preparation, such as chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient meal service
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and notify management when items need to be restocked
- Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
