Job Overview: We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Waiters/Waitresses. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for food and hospitality, be proactive, and possess excellent communication skills. As a Waiter/Waitress at Santa Maria, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that each guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanour.
- Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers and relay them to the kitchen staff promptly.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring presentation and quality standards are met.
- Offer menu recommendations and provide information about daily specials.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Process payments and operate the POS system accurately.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and delivered efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including setting and resetting tables.
- Assist in preparing the restaurant for opening and closing, including cleaning tasks.
- Upsell additional products when appropriate.
- Work as a team player to create a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Strong verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for processing orders and handling payments.
- A strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine and pizza basics is a plus.
