Full job description

The main purpose of the role:

To work within a time to provide safe and supported accommodation for young people aged 16 plus. To actively support the company’s ethos of providing transitional support and bespoke service that focuses on education, training, and employment to foster sustainable move into independence for the young people. Experience Autism , ADHD and managing challenging behaviour will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • To provide support to young people who reside at the home (therein referred to as the unit) in line with each individual personalised support plan.
  • To enable and support the young people to be actively engaged in their living environment and within the local community.
  • To work in partnership with all young people in the unit to design, develop and own the support they receive by ensuring their effective participation in formulating their support plan.
  • To act as a key worker and carry out key working sessions as required in the young person’s support plan.
  • To support young people to make informed choices and increase their independence.
  • To support all young people to exercise their cultural beliefs and practices.
  • To enable young people to form and maintain positive relationships of their choice.
  • To support young people to maintain the cleanliness of their rooms, and living environment, and to enable them to develop strong, functional independent living skills.
  • To support young people to budget, make considered choices, and gain financial independence and stability.
  • To ensure the ongoing safety of the young people in the unit and report/action concerns
  • To ensure that as staff, you develop positive relationships with the young people and actively support and promote individual outcomes.
  • To work with the team to deliver what is important to the young people and promote a positive outcome for the future.
  • To actively promote and participate in pathway planning, developing risk assessments, behaviours management, and attending regular team meetings.
  • Working as part of a team to provide a program of activities for the young people both within the unit and outside the community to keep them positively engaged and promote their independence.
  • Promoting the social and emotional well-being & development of the young people and to consistently striving to further develop these skills.
  • Liaising with other staff, professionals, parents, and agencies, as necessary and maintaining high levels of professionalism at all times.
  • To support the young people to maintain the safety and security of the unit. To enable the YP to maintain their health and well-being including support with medication and/or personal care needs if identified within their Personalised Plan.
  • Undertaking any administrative tasks linked to the work with young people e.g., keeping appropriate daily records, making reports as required by management
  • To maintain appropriate records and logs of all accidents, incidents, or any challenge of suspected inappropriate practice according
  • To participate in LAC reviews or case discussions where necessary and to provide support and assistance when difficulties arise.
  • Keeping up to date with company policies and procedures and always following them.
  • To report immediately to management any noticeable changes in health, behaviour, or circumstances of our young people ensuring that their right to privacy and confidentiality is maintained.
  • To undertake financial management and recording of day-to-day petty cash maintenance
  • To be a key member of the team and demonstrate the ability to work within a team, to be innovative, creative, and flexible, and be able to have an open mind and a willingness to learn.
  • There is a requirement for the post holder to be able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, self- awareness, and acceptance of others.
  • There are requirements to - Participate fully in training and development program for Support Workers and any external training as required.
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision sessions and performance reviews.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £11.46-£12.20 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
