The opportunity:

We are looking for a strong reliable Warehouse Operative / Pick and Packer who is focused on efficient and safe packing of orders in a timely manner. Based in Mitcham, the successful candidate will join the team working 8:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with prior experience working as Warehouse Operative. They must be able to conduct manual handling work picking, packing and carrying orders. Whilst experience of working with horticultural products would be an advantage, it is not essential as training will be provided. Applications from enthusiastic individuals who are willing to learn are also welcomed.

Key duties for our Warehouse Operatives are:

The operative will pick plants, pots and other accessories from the warehouse and package them for delivery. You should be willing to work as part of the operations team to ensure that the items are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct location. You will also be expected to help prepare the delivery van for the next day and offload and sort any deliveries.

Working hours will be between Monday and Thursday, potentially expanding to Friday at peek times.

Responsibilities:

- Picking orders
- Filling all orders with correct packaging ensuring proper handling and protection to prevent damage during transit
- Complete required shipping documentation and labels, ensuring all information is accurate
- Review parcels with their order notes to ensure they’re accurate
- Unpacking deliveries and stock replenishment to correct location
- Preparing orders for and loading of delivery van
- Maintaining regular communication with the Warehouse Manager
- Adhering to assigned schedules and process
- Along with the rest of the team, ensure that the unit is kept clean and tidy
- Reporting missing stock to the Supervisor
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of stock levels to support inventory management and replenishment processes
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily shipping schedule
