Overview
A new Ukrainian-inspired restaurant opening in Notting Hill, serving reimagined classics in celebration of the country’s food culture, its rich forests and green coastlines.Called Sino, the restaurant will serve “refined” dishes, blending elements of Ukrainian gastronomy with Western cooking techniques.
We are looking for a waiter / waitress to join our small but mighty team led by Chef Eugene Korolev, the president of Bocuse D’Or Ukraine, co-founder Polina Sychova and Ukrainian mixologist Ana Reznik, formerly of 'A Bar with Shapes for a Name'.
This is an amazing opportunity to be part of something incredible, right at the start, with one of the most exciting teams in London hospitality.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide them with menus, ensuring they feel welcomed.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using basic maths skills to manage transactions.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Assist in food preparation and kitchen duties as required, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly, providing excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area throughout service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary basics is advantageous.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour towards guests and colleagues.
- Basic maths skills for handling payments and processing orders accurately.
- A willingness to help others, demonstrating teamwork and collaboration within the restaurant.
- A passion for the culinary field, with an eagerness to learn about menu items and ingredients.
