Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and despatch operative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of customer shipments, contributing to various tasks including materials handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30-4:30.
Duties
- Perform picking and packing of orders accurately to ensure timely dispatch, along with organising domestic deliveries.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stock management within the store.
- Maintaining stock levels of store sundries
- Occasional deliveries by foot/taxi/tube to customers staying within the London area
- Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the store.
- Performing morning visual sweep of the store and ensure it is ready for opening
- Updating and maintaining shipping records and packing book
- Any other ad-hoc tasks as required
Experience
- Previous experience with domestic and international shipments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Experience in materials handling, shipping, receiving, or stock management is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate order fulfilment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork within a diverse workforce.
- IT literate, and able to comfortably use MS office
