Looking for Catering Assistant Job

About the Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our café. You will be responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to a high standard, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and delivering excellent customer service at all times.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a socially focused organisation, where your work supports the wellbeing of young people and families in the local community.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and serve food and beverages with care and attention
- Deliver exceptional customer service in a busy, community-focused café
- Keep all café and dining areas clean, tidy, and inviting
- Assist with stock management, food deliveries,
- Ensure high standards of hygiene and food safety are always maintained
- Operate and handle transactions accurately
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and energetic team
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a café, catering, or customer service role (preferred but not essential – training will be provided!)
- A team player with great communication and people skills
- Someone who’s enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to get stuck in
- A flexible approach – able to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays
- A commitment to upholding YMCA values and being a positive role model in the community
