Working Hours
Full-time position, 44.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 17:00, plus alternate Saturdays: 08:00 – 12:00.

Stock Controller Responsibilities

- Monitor, maintain, and record accurate stock levels using digital and manual systems.
- Receive, check, and organise deliveries, ensuring goods are correctly stored and documented.
- Conduct regular stock checks and full inventory counts, promptly investigating discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with the sales, transport, and branch management teams to coordinate inventory requirements.
- Ensure safe and organised warehousing, upholding all health and safety and company policies.
- Assist with the preparation of stock for dispatch and support smooth order fulfilment processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve stock flow and operational efficiency within the branch.
- Report damaged, missing, or surplus stock as prescribed by company procedures.

Essential Stock Controller Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in a stock control, inventory, warehouse, or similar role within the building materials, timber, or merchant sector desired.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Confident IT user – experience with stock/inventory management systems preferred.
- Excellent communication skills – team player with a collaborative approach.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and solve problems under pressure.
- Physical capability to undertake regular manual handling.
- Commitment to health & safety standards and stock management best practice.
- Adaptable and keen to develop product knowledge and operational skills.
