We are looking for a reliable, safety‑minded Warehouse Operative (Nights) to join our Air Freight Warehouse team at Heathrow. Working on a 4 on / 4 off night shift pattern, you will play a crucial role in the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of freight in a fast‑paced environment.
This is a hands‑on position where you will work closely with Warehouse Supervisors and the Warehouse Manager to ensure daily operations run smoothly, safely, and in full compliance with aviation security, HMRC regulations, and company SOPs. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out warehouse tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently in line with company SOPs.
- Receive, handle, process, and dispatch freight in accordance with customer instructions and regulatory requirements.
- Operate mechanical handling equipment (MHE) safely after completing required training.
- Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
- Identify and report damaged, missing, or incomplete shipments.
- Follow aviation security (AVSEC) and HMRC compliance requirements at all times.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and workplace organisation throughout the shift.
- Highlight any safety, security, or operational issues immediately to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Carry out daily equipment safety checks and report any defects promptly.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or air freight environment (preferred but not essential).
- A strong awareness of health & safety and a commitment to safe working practices.
- Ability to follow processes, work accurately, and maintain high standards.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively within a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with time‑critical tasks.
- Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- Willingness to learn, complete mandatory training, and follow security procedures.
- Ability to work 4 on / 4 off night shifts consistently.
