As a Storekeeper, you’re not just purchasing goods for the hotel – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.
Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
- Support procurement operations: Assist with purchasing materials and supplies through internal procurement systems, researching pricing, and ensuring all activities comply with company purchasing policies and procedures while avoiding over-ordering and identifying slow-moving items
- Process and verify deliveries: Receive and manage all incoming goods and deliveries, checking them against purchase orders, invoices, and specifications to ensure accuracy, and forwarding items to the correct departments or storage areas
- Fulfill requisitions: Issue and deliver stock to departments as requested, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock records, and notifying supervisors of low, excess, or slow-moving items
- Process invoices: Receive and review supplier invoices for accuracy, ensure alignment with delivered goods and purchase orders, scan and log documentation, and follow up on discrepancies to support timely payment processes
- Assist with inventory tracking: Conduct routine stock counts and inventories, maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing goods, update inventory systems, and report any shortages, damages, or discrepancies
- Maintain stock control and storage standards: Take responsibility for central stores, ensuring organised storage, accurate logging of stock movements, and control over issue releases and inventory levels
- Ensure compliance and safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, particularly relating to food and beverage items, ensuring safe handling, storage, and distribution of goods
- Support team operations and service delivery: Work collaboratively with team members, managers, and operational departments to ensure smooth supply chain processes and provide a high level of internal customer service
